Almond Meringue

baking 5 days in a row -_-" meringue required only 2 main ingredients; egg white and sugar.
there is leftover egg white from my yesterday lemon crepe cake,
that's why i decided to bake meringues today!!
4 egg whites

beat in medium speed
beat it till it's white and you see little bubbles in the egg
add in 1/2c of sugar little by little
when you see that it's thick, stop the mixer and add in 1/2t of vanilla


create a little meringue on a baking sheet

decorate each with sliced almond

bake them for 1 hour at 100c


keep the meringues in a jar

Lemon Crepe Cake for Poo's 20th bd :))

HAPPY 20th BIRTHDAY POOSANU!!
it's my brother's birthday, and he just love lemon the most. i then began to search for lemon recipe on the internet, i finally found this one in my fav site, marthastewart.com


15 layers in total

the recipe require a lot of time and a bit complicated
but be patient, its definitely worth it!!

Lemon Curds:

dissolve 1t of gelatin in 1T of cold water, let stand

whisk together 4 eggs+6 yolks

add in 1c of sugar
and 3/4 of lemon juice
cook,whisking constantly over mid-low heat until mixture is thick enough around 8-10 min

remove from heat, dissolve in gelatin
add in 60g of butter, bit by bit
strian through a sieve
fridge it for at least 2 hrs
whipped a cup of whipping cream, fold it to the curds and fridge it for another hour

Crepe
large bowl: 3/4c flour+1/2c sugar+ 1/4t salt

in different bowl: 1 1/4c milk+ 3eggs+1/2T vanilla

gradually add milk mixture to flour mixture, whisk till smooth

strian it
wrap it and frigde a least 2 hrs, better if it overnight

lightly coat 6in pan with butter till smoke
1/4 c of crepe batter
swirl to cover bottom pan
cook till edges are golden brown and center is dry, 30 sec per side

make it 15
brush it with honey
scoop up a spoon of curds
spread it all over, do the same for another 14 layers

it's my brother's 20th birthday so we had a little family lunch at KOBE at Uurujpong (around Ratchatewi area) the food here is soooo good, it is even better when mom and dad pay! hehe

pork sukiyaki.. it's a MUST

Saba Steak... crispy

beef tepanyaki... Poo's choice, very soft and tasty

Bento... it's ok, the only thing i like it the fish in bottom right

Hayashi ramen... my all time favorite menu

Cashew nuts and banana cake :)


while i was jogging today, my mom calleed and asked me to bake a banana cake to visit grandma tmrw. the recipe is the same as my previous chocolate banana yogurt cake entry except instead of chocolate frosting, i changed it to chopped cashew nuts as a topping. thttp://sweetscheme.blogspot.com/2010/06/chocolate-banana-yogurt-cake.html

150g of flour, 1/2t baking powder, baking soda, salt


2 eggs

50g of yogurt

2 bananas
mashed
60g softened butter

1 cups of cashew nuts, chopped

bake it at 180c for 30 min

check it with toothpick


sliced up and packed!
